The word "come" might sound simple, yet its genuine commitment can be challenging to embrace in our journey of faith. We’re going to delve into the beautiful truth that Jesus personally invites each of us to join him. When we are supported and surrendered to the Holy Spirit, we're also entrusted with the mission to extend this invitation to others.
As we have journeyed these last weeks through discovering our dream and keeping focused on the things God has planned for us to do, you may have found that your role has changed, your desires have changed, and your assignments from God have changed. They have moved from your desires to what God desires for you. But there is one thing God fully desires is that we all finish well. Getting to the last lap of a race is not the same thing as completing it! The Bible has a lot to say about perseverance in order to cross the finish line.
On this weekend we celebrate the birth of our nation and the freedoms we enjoy. The sacrifices made on our behalf by the many who gave their all have provided us with these freedoms. Jesus gives us true freedom. Through His death and resurrection we are free from the bondage of sin and death. In the way we live our lives we can honor the many who have died for these freedoms. Above all we must honor the greatest sacrifice ever made, Jesus, the Lamb of God who gave all for you and I that we may have eternal life.
Jesus defines who is our neighbor. He told the parable of the Good Samaritan to show us that love extends beyond wealth, religious titles, the color of our skin, and education level. Our neighborhood is as wide as the love of God. Being a neighbor, loving our neighbor means acting on behalf of others regardless of who they are or where they are from. Join us this weekend for worship as we once again discover who is our neighbor?
There is no sitting on the fence, there is a choice to be made in each one of our lives whether or not we are willing to follow Christ and move forward or not. Scripture tells us that we cannot be lukewarm Christians. God would rather have us either hot or cold, but not sitting on the fence in our faith.
Who owns your heart? Where does your allegiance lie? The world says so many things that sound like the truth but there is One who we ought to bow the knee and give our allegiance, and He is Jesus. We can be patriotic and be proud to be an American, but we must know and understand our citizenship is in the Kingdom of God.
Today’s service is centered around knowing God our Father— Creator of heaven and earth. The sermon ties in together with the We Believe?! Study that is available through our YouTube Channel online as well after the worship service. We pray your faith will be strengthened in knowing our Creator God is in control of all things.
Often times we ask God, “How Long, O Lord.” And He is asking us to remain patient for His time, for His will to be done. We do not know how long, but we do know the One in whose hands we can place our today, tomorrow, and future. Join us for worship.
