As believers, we are not to be swayed by the changing tides of this world. Our hope is anchored in the unchanging nature of God and His eternal promises. And because they are solid and secure, we can offer hope to others by encouraging them. We can live boldly and courageously, shining the light of Christ in every corner of our lives so others will see the hope we have in Jesus.
How do you define your hope? Hope, for believers, radiates from the life, death, and resurrection of Jesus Christ, our beacon in the darkest of times. In His sacrifice for our sins, we find the eternal promise of redemption and the unwavering assurance that light will always conquer darkness.
Anytime the word Hope is mentioned in a Christian context, it must always be mentioned that we do not mean here some kind of wishful thinking or chance possibility. When we say Hope is Christian circles, we mean a sure and solid confidence and joyous reality on the horizon. There is nothing tentative about it. It is part of who we are as God’s children.
This Sunday is the start to the Advent season, a time to contemplate and remember the birth of our Savior, Jesus Christ. It is through Him that we have hope. What an incredible gift! Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! In his great mercy he has given us new birth into a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, and into an inheritance that can never perish, spoil or fade.
