The Bible speaks often about rejoicing in the Lord—but what does that truly mean? At its core, it’s about having a deep and secure hope that brings joy, no matter the circumstances. In Christ, we find true and lasting joy, regardless of what is happening around us because licv=ing for Christ gives us joy with a purpose.
As followers of Jesus, our journey often calls us to pause and reconnect with Christ. To be truly connected to Him means more than knowing about Him—it’s about relating deeply to what He has done for us. It’s about reflecting on His sacrifice, His grace, and His love that transforms our hearts. When we draw near to Him, we find strength, peace, and purpose, rooted in the unshakable truth of who He is and all He’s accomplished on our behalf.
We’re called to be Disciples making disciples and that means following in the footsteps of Jesus. But what if we’re not sure how Jesus would handle certain situations? We just have to turn to His word to find out how to go through these circumstances with the love and grace of God.
As believers, we are not to be swayed by the changing tides of this world. Our hope is anchored in the unchanging nature of God and His eternal promises. And because they are solid and secure, we can offer hope to others by encouraging them. We can live boldly and courageously, shining the light of Christ in every corner of our lives so others will see the hope we have in Jesus.
As believers, when frustration weighs us down, we are invited to turn to the Lord, who tenderly listens to our cares and concerns. In moments of struggle, we can find comfort and peace by casting our burdens on Him, trusting that His grace and strength will sustain us. Remember, His love is a steady anchor in the frustrations of life.
Prayer is simply communicating with God, yet we often make it more complicated than it needs to be. Let's be honest—most of us could use a boost in our prayer life. If we took it a bit more seriously, we’d find that when we pray, we draw closer to God.
There is no greater way to get to know God, His character, His Nature, His goodness, and the life He has for you than reading His Living Word. And yet most people don’t do it. We have access to God’s Word and yet either don’t take time to do it or when we try, we don’t really understand it. That’’s why we’re taking time to get to the basics, the basics of getting closer to God through His Word.
As the summer heats up and we’re reminded to drink more water to stay hydrated, let's also consider how we're nourishing our spiritual lives. Just as our bodies need water, our souls need the living water offered by Jesus to stay refreshed and thriving.
