So, there’s a dream God has given you or maybe a dream that has been rekindled by last week’s Sermon and Study. Now what? Our next step is to focus on the one main thing in life that will keep us moving forward to obtain it. It sounds simple! Yet, in reality, it rarely comes easily. The push and pull of everyday life make take away some of the excitement we once had. But that’s why we must learn to Remain Focused. Fix our eyes on Jesus and the promise God has given to get us through.
Moving forward is sometimes a bit difficult especially when you’re not sure where to go. That’s when we need to dream God-sized dreams, to “Seize Tomorrow, Today!” As a follower of Jesus, you are called to look ahead and move forward in power, passion, and purpose. The good thing is, God always knows where you are going, and He has promised to never abandon you on your journey.
As we step into this new year, we can either dwell on what things we’ve left undone, what things took us down, and what things just didn’t realize in our lives OR we can stand tall, persevere, and walk firmly in Christ into the new year. Moving forward in Christ means that we walk into our Divine purpose, which God determines for us both individually and corporately as a Church. As we move in Christ, guess what? God moves closer toward us, in us, and through us.
There is so much joy in taking a trip. The excitement builds as you prepare along the way to the destination. If you’re ready, we’ll be taking a trip this weekend to see the joy that surrounds the One who we adore, Jesus the Christ. From Mary and Joseph, the Shepherds, the Disciples, the ones Jesus healed, and the resurrection— Jesus gives us the reason to have joy, this day and every day. Join us as we once again discover the Joy of Jesus.
Do you know our lives are to reflect the thankful heart we have for what God has done? We ought to desire to walk into His presence with singing because of what Jesus has done— He saved us, He redeemed us, He called us His own! That is worth giving God all the praise and thanksgiving for working in each of our lives. As we celebrate Thanksgiving this week, let us remember the cost and give thanks to God for His hand of mercy and grace upon our lives.
In order to continue using our gifts, being effective in this world for the glory of God we must be plugged into Christ. It bears repeating, no one can do anything without being plugged into the source of all things, especially when using and perfecting the spiritual gifts God has given you. Scripture reminds us, “I am the vine, you are the branches. If you remain in me [plug into me], you will bear much fruit; apart from me, you can do nothing” (John 15:5, emphasis mine). So, how do we remain plugged in for life? Well, glad you asked. Listen in on the Sermon today.
We continue with our Understanding Spiritual Gifts Sermon and Study Series. Who gives us these gifts anyway? And, what are they to be used for? These are the two questions that we will explore together this weekend as we come together and worship and share in Holy Communion together. Our gifts are not meant to be unused, unopened, unappreciated. Our gifts are given by God to be used for the Body of Christ, His Church so that we might glorify Him.
We begin a new Sermon Series and Study focusing on Understanding the Spiritual Gifts. Did you know you have a gift given to you by the Holy Spirit? If you are a believer and follower of Jesus Christ, you have a spiritual gift to share with the Body of Christ to build it up in the world. That is how worthy you are to God that He has given something for you to do within the kingdom to help others see the abundant life now.
Put your Sunday groove on because we are coming together as a Church to worship, praise, and thank God for all He has done and will do through you and me in this new season. Have you ever seen those commercials where people press a reset button? We aren’t resetting things, we are moving forward with a Fresh Start, a new step in our walk with God and one another. Be sure to join us this Sunday as we see new faces, make friends, and take that fresh step in your spiritual journey. We have a ton of opportunities to make connections, learn more about God, and serve in our community!
Whether you have noticed it or not, we are in the middle of the Jewish holidays of Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur. They mark the Jewish New Year and the Day of Atonement. It is during this time that one reflects on their relationship with God and their relationships with one another leading up to the holiest of days where the sacrifice for sins would take place with the High Priest walking into the Holy of Holies with the blood from the sacrifice to forgive the sins of the people. Christianity has a rich history that points toward fulfillment through the coming of Christ. We hope you will join us as we Honor Our Heritage.
